When player gains energy, it’s accumulated towards an energy point. When **X** amount of energy is gained, the player is rewarded one energy point. This process can be achieved **X** amount of times. After the maximum amount of energy points is gained, no further energy can be gained.

Skills cost energy points. When using a skill, the amount of points indicated are subtracted, not the amount of energy.

{% hint style="info" %}
*Example: The player hits the enemy to gain 20 points of energy, what amounts to exactly **1** energy point. After that, they hit the opponent for an extra 15 points of energy, 5 points shy from a second energy point. The player then can use a skill that costs **1** energy point, and if they tried to use a skill that uses **2** energy points, it would be invalid.*

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://whitepaper.gmr.center/battle-leets/gameplay/mechanics/skill-costs.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
